Sargood on Collaroy is an award winning world-class luxury retreat specifically designed for people living with spinal cord injuries. Built from the ground up with a focus on complete wheelchair accessibility, the facility features 17 self-contained apartments alongside administration offices, an occupational therapy room, a gymnasium, and various communal spaces, including a library and dining areas. Each apartment is engineered to cater to residents with varying needs, from paraplegia to quadriplegia. The rooms feature state-of-the-art infrared and RFID hands-free technology to control essential services, with the ability to expand to voice activation. A custom Crestron interface allows residents to manage intercoms, lighting, climate control, and audio-visual systems directly from their mobile devices without needing manual dexterity. Working closely with the client and construction team, Elektron managed the comprehensive electrical design and installation. This included all lighting, data, dry fire systems, security access, and advanced audio-visual services across the entire project.
